Nigerian footballer, Victor Boniface has spoken out against the unfair treatment of the Super Eagles in Libya, where the team faced an unexpected delay at Al-Abaq Airport on October 13, 2024

Boniface took to X, to express his frustration, stating:
“Been at the airport for almost 13 hours… no food, no WiFi, no where to sleep. African, we can do better.”
The delay was allegedly in response to Libyan players’ complaints about their treatment during their recent visit to Nigeria for a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match, which Nigeria won 1-0.
Boniface’s post reflects the challenges faced by African teams during international competitions and emphasizes the need for improved hospitality and respect among nations.
