Warri refinery begins operations

The 125,000 barrels per day Warri Refining and Petrochemicals Company (WRPC) has resumed operations, according to Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL)

Kyari made this announcement during a facility tour on Monday, noting that while the plant is operational, the rehabilitation process is not yet fully complete.

“This plant is running. Although it is not 100 percent complete, we are still in the process,” Kyari stated. “Many people think these things are not real. They think real things are not possible in this country. We want you to see that this is real.”

The development follows the recent rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt refinery in Rivers State, signaling progress in Nigeria’s refinery revitalization efforts.
