President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has warned opposition leader Peter Obi over comments seen as endorsing potential U.S. military intervention in Nigeria
The warning follows a video in which Obi reportedly stated, “If Donald Trump said he will invade Nigeria, I will welcome it with open arms because security is my priority.”
Onanuga, in a post on X, said, “We shall never forget and forgive Peter Obi for supporting a foreign invasion of Nigeria,” describing the stance as unbecoming of a political leader.
Onanuga accused the former Labour Party presidential candidate of showing a disregard for Nigeria’s sovereignty, emphasizing that such remarks would not be ignored by the government.
