Aston Villa kicked off their Premier League campaign with a win at West Ham, thanks to a late goal from substitute Jhon Duran

Duran scored in the 79th minute, slotting the ball into the bottom corner after receiving a pass from Jacob Ramsey.
This came after West Ham had reportedly attempted to sign Duran twice in recent weeks.
Aston Villa had taken an early lead through Andre Onana, who headed in Youri Tielemans’ corner just four minutes into his debut.
However, West Ham equalized before halftime when Matty Cash was penalized for a foul on Tomas Soucek in the box.
Lucas Paqueta converted the penalty with a stuttering run-up, catching Emiliano Martinez off guard.
Despite West Ham’s equalizer, Aston Villa maintained their dominance and eventually secured the win through Duran’s late strike.
