West Ham have parted ways with manager Graham Potter following a disappointing run of results

Potter, who was appointed in January on a two-and-a-half-year deal to succeed Julen Lopetegui, leaves the club after less than a year in charge.

In a statement, West Ham said: “West Ham United can confirm that Head Coach Graham Potter has left the Club. Results and performances over the course of the second half of last season and the start of the 2025/26 season have not matched expectations, and the Board of Directors believe that a change is necessary in order to help improve the team’s position in the Premier League as soon as possible.”

The decision comes ahead of West Ham’s trip to face former manager David Moyes’ Everton on Monday night.

The Hammers have struggled at the start of the 2025/26 season, collecting just three points from five games, with one win against Nottingham Forest and four defeats leaving them 19th in the league, just above winless Wolves.

Potter’s tenure ended with six wins from 23 Premier League matches, and last season the club finished 14th under his guidance.
