Whoopi Goldberg was noticeably absent from The View yesterday

with her brother who has been admitted at a California hospital where he has
been receiving treatment for a brain aneurysm to spend his last moment with

The View announced on their Twitter account that Goldberg
was away ‘spending time with family’, but it was more serious.

It was later gathered that she was at the hospital bed of
her only sibling, Clyde K. Johnson who had only few hours to live. He passed on right in front of Goldberg and some
family members. He was 65. Johnson had worked for years as Goldberg’s driver on
film sets and the two were incredibly close.
