Actor Gideon Okeke has questioned the disparity in laws regarding who can carry arms in Nigeria

He highlighted the seeming contradiction where cattle herders are often seen carrying machetes and cutlasses for protection, while others, like Pastor Paul Adefarasin, face scrutiny for carrying weapons.
Gideon asked why cattle herders are seemingly given a “pass” to carry arms openly, while others are not afforded the same privilege, questioning if all citizens are truly equal under the law.
He wrote: “Why does a cattle herdsman get a pass to carry machetes, daggers and charms openly. I mean roamimg freely infront of police sef, for the protection of their lives and property.
Cattle rearer and pastor…are they not equal citizens”
