Tiwa Savage has shared her thoughts on why she’s hesitant to sign new artistes to her label

In a recent interview with Forbes Africa, According to the “Water and Garri” hitmaker, managing artists can be a stressful and overwhelming responsibility
Tiwa expressed her concerns about the challenges of mentoring and guiding new talent, stating that she doesn’t feel equipped with the necessary “gift” to take on this role.
Instead, she’s exploring alternative ways to support emerging artists.
One initiative close to her heart is establishing a music school, where aspiring musicians can hone their skills and develop their craft.
Tiwa believes that this platform will provide a nurturing environment for new talent to flourish, before potentially signing with a record label that can offer the necessary support and resources.
Tiwa Savage said:
“Everyone always says to me, ‘When are you going to sign an artiste?’ I don’t think I have the gift to sign another artiste, because artistes are stressful. I could just be sleeping, and then I will wake up and my artist is trending for something else.”
“But I do have the gift to help, which is why I am trying to do the music school, where you can go and later sign to a label that can actually help you.”
