Veteran Nollywood actor, Yemi Solade has opened up about why he stopped attending church services, revealing that he hasn’t been a regular churchgoer for over a decade
Speaking on the Honest Bunch Podcast, Solade recounted that the turning point came in 2013 when a pastor at his then-church instructed him to avoid accepting acting jobs scheduled on Sundays.
The actor explained that the directive conflicted with his career and livelihood, forcing him to reconsider how he balanced faith and personal life. This ultimately led him to step back from regular church attendance.
“If you see me in a church, it’s probably because we’re filming. Back in 2013, I went to church with my wife, and the pastor told me not to take jobs on Sundays. That same work he wanted me to avoid is what puts money in my pocket and allows me to give offerings. That was when I decided to stop,” Solade said.
Solade stressed that his decision was not a rejection of faith but a conscious choice to avoid pressures that could hinder personal growth and productivity, allowing him to focus more on his family and acting career.
