Actress Farrah Forke has passed away at the age of 54 her family has confirmed.
The Wings star died at home in her native Texas following a battle with cancer her family told Variety on Wednesday.
She is said to have died on February 25.
The actress is best known for her role as helicopter pilot Alex Lambert in seasons four to six of NBC’s Wings.
The show was created by the writers behind Cheers and Fraser and also starred Tony Shalhoub and Thomas Haden Church.
She also featured in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, where she had a recurring role as attorney Mayson Drake.
Fans took to social media to express their sympathy following the announcement of her death.
Actor Tim Daly was among those and wrote on Twitter : “HUMANS!!! Saddened to hear of Farrah Forke’s passing. I’m sending love to her friends and family.”
Actor Corey Feldman, who had worked alongside Farrah, also penned: “VERY SAD NEWS, A FUNNY & TALENTED WOMAN WHO WAS A DEDIC8ED WORKER & NICE PERSON 2 WORK WITH PASSED 2DAY! SHE WAS MY COSTAR ON #DWEEBS 4 @CBS #RIPFARRAHFORKE”
Another Twitter user wrote: “Rest in eternal peace Farrah Forke. Thank you for Mayson Drake,” while a third said: “Her character on Wings was the definition of a cool chick for me when I was growing up. A helicopter pilot!! F*** cancer!”
A fourth added: “RIP to actress Farrah Forke who played “Mayson Drake” in Season 2 of #LoisAndClark.
