A businesswoman has faced widespread criticism online for her insensitive and mocking comments about the family of comic actor Nkubi
The controversy began when Nkubi shared a heartwarming Christmas photo with his wife and child, which was met with a barrage of comments, including a particularly hurtful one from the businesswoman.
The woman’s comment was deemed offensive and ableist, as she questioned Nkubi’s wife’s decision to marry him and have a child with him, citing concerns about the potential health and social implications of their child inheriting his physical characteristics.
She also made assumptions about Nkubi’s self-esteem and suggested that his wife would have to “walk on eggshells” in their relationship.
“Nkubi’s wife tried not just by marrying him but also birthing a child. I personally can’t marry such a person for my kids sake. The anxiety that would come with the pregnancy based on the fact that the child might end up inheriting more of the Father’s genes won’t be funny.
“Forget,I am not sure there’s anyone that wouldn’t be bothered about having a midget as a child no matter how much you claim to love the father. Plus I wouldn’t want to be the reason my child will be bûllied most of the times. It’s also possible she did prenatal testing while pregnant.
“Being married to such a person would also make you walk on eggshells cos most of your actions will ikely be misunderstood especially if you married one with a low self esteem which majority of them suffer from. She really tried.”
The comment sparked outrage among social media users, who condemned the businesswoman’s words as cruel and discriminatory.
Many came to Nkubi’s defense, praising his wife for her love and support, and emphasizing that everyone deserves respect and dignity regardless of their physical appearance or abilities.
