Amanda Ennells, Elizabeth’s niece, found it strange that Karen’s pyjamas were clean despite her claim of trying to rescue Elizabeth from the fire.
Another witness, Marion Gasson, recounted Karen’s account of the incident, where she mentioned hearing Elizabeth screaming and smelling smoke, but her story raised doubts.
However, Karen’s defense argued that her actions were innocent and questioned the credibility of the suspicions raised by witnesses.
