Bekah Smith, a young mom, says Tiktok saved her life after she found herself in a nightmare relationship with her abusive boyfriend, Karl Draper.
For three years, she endured his physical and emotional abuse, feeling trapped and isolated. But everything changed when she started making true crime videos on TikTok.
As Bekah shared chilling stories with her followers, she began to see similarities between those tales and her own life. The videos gave her the courage to recognize the abuse she was experiencing and to break free from her tormentor.
Despite facing threats and violence, Bekah finally left Draper in September 2023, with the help of the confidence she gained from her online community. When Draper later threatened self-harm, she called the police, leading to his arrest and eventual conviction for multiple counts of abuse.
Now, Bekah continues to share her story on TikTok, grateful for the platform that helped her escape her abusive relationship. She hopes her videos will empower other women to recognize and leave toxic situations, ensuring that no one else suffers as she did.
