Sevilla forward Akor Adams broke the deadlock in the 78th minute, finishing sharply from inside the box after sustained Nigerian pressure. Gabon fought back, with Mario Lemina leveling in the 89th minute, sending the game into extra time.

In extra time, Nigeria regained control. Chidera Ejuke scored in the 97th minute to put the Super Eagles ahead. Victor Osimhen then starred, adding goals in the 102nd and 110th minutes to seal a commanding 4–1 victory.

Nigeria will face the winner of the semi-final between Cameroon and DR Congo in the play-off final on Sunday, November 16. The winner of that match will advance to the inter-confederation play-offs, keeping World Cup qualification hopes alive.
