The Super Eagles secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Rwanda’s Amavubi in a tense 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo

Nigeria endured an early blow when star forward Victor Osimhen was forced off with an injury, but they maintained control for much of the first half, which ended scoreless.

The decisive moment came in the 51st minute, as Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Tolu Arokodare found the back of the net to give the Eagles the lead.

The hosts stood firm until the final whistle, sealing all three points and strengthening their qualification push.

Up next, the Super Eagles will take on South Africa on Tuesday in another key qualifier.
