Actress Wumi Toriola has taken a swipe at veteran filmmaker Afeez Owo over remarks he made comparing her personality with that of his wife, actress Mide Martins
During an appearance on the African A-List podcast, Afeez Owo described Wumi as someone whose on-screen persona closely mirrors her real-life temperament.

According to him, “Mide’s character in movies is completely different from how she is in real life, but Wumi’s movie roles reflect her true character. Violence is her comfort zone. Wumi reacts when provoked and doesn’t tolerate nonsense, while Mide stays calm even when offended.”
Wumi, visibly angered by the comment, fired back in a video she later deleted from her Instagram page. She dismissed the interview as “rubbish” and accused Afeez of using the podcast platform to tarnish her image.
“Must every misunderstanding end up on a podcast? They gave you a microphone and you started talking nonsense. After they served you pepper soup, you began blabbing. Am I a mad woman? If people don’t provoke me, why would I get angry? I’ve never disrespected you, yet I still respect you despite your unfortunate behaviour,” she said.
Both Wumi Toriola and Mide Martins are well known for their fiery roles on screen, which has fueled ongoing debate about how closely these roles reflect their true personalities.
