Nigerian-American singer Ojay Wright, son of veteran actress Bukky Wright, described the constant requests for money as one of the biggest culture shocks he experienced after relocating to Nigeria and dating Nigerian women.
He said the difference became noticeable very quickly, especially when it came to meeting women and getting to know them.
In a post shared by his mom, he said:
“Everybody just asks for money. They’re always asking for money. I think that was the biggest shock for me. Cause over there people just do what they do. But over here you cannot even say hello or hi without getting billed. I haven’t met someone in the first two months are not billing me.
“It’s not like I wouldn’t spend. But it’s money, money, money here. That’s the only thing everybody talks about..”
