A media personality Kogi Rebel, has sparked a conversation following his criticism of online figure VeryDarkMan, for accepting a N100 million donation from Mavin Records founder Don Jazzy.
The donation has stirred debate, as it came after VDM had criticized Don Jazzy for financially supporting crossdresser Bobrisky just weeks earlier.
Amid the controversy surrounding the donation to VDM’s newly launched NGO, Kogi Rebel took to Facebook to voice his displeasure.
He pointed out that accepting Don Jazzy’s donation was inconsistent with VDM’s previous stance, especially considering his harsh condemnation of Nigerian preacher Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, who VDM accused of selling fake miracle water and healing soaps.
Kogi Rebel argued that someone who claims to stand for righteousness should not overlook small offenses for personal benefit. He wrote:
“If Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin sends VeryDarkMan’s NGO (loosely translates as ‘NGO’ to escape culpability), 300m this night, he will receive ‘God bless your MOG.’
He can now resume his Holy Water and Soap selling business to Nigerians. Don’t you see how you all sound? If you stand for self-righteousness and speak against all the evils in the land, you can’t tolerate small evil because it is convenient for your own course. Integrity is really subjective.
Many of us that know we are not perfect humans, do you see us act like Holy Serpents? Which way Nigerians?”
Kogi Rebel’s post drew mixed reactions, with some supporting his stance while others defended VDM’s decision.
