Cubana Chief Priest has issued a fierce message to President Bola Tinubu following the life-imprisonment sentence slammed on Nnamdi Kanu, warning that the South-East will not support the president in 2027 if Kanu remains in detention.
Reacting on his social media page, he wrote: “As long as MNK remains in jail you cannot & will never get up to 10,000 votes in SouthEast come 2027. I will not lie to you Papa… MNK is the supreme leader of SouthEast. His detention has caused us so much setback.”
He accused South-East ministers in Tinubu’s cabinet of failing to tell the president the truth, describing them as “cowards” who are disconnected from their own people. According to him, “None of them has capacity & can do anything to make the people love & respect you… They can’t even go to their hometowns because of MNK detention so how can they help you?”
Cubana Chief Priest also said many of Tinubu’s close allies from the region are only after personal benefits. Referring to a recent meeting, he wrote: “All those people on that table with you at Delbourogh Hotel the other day are just bags of deceit… They only want lands from you to develop & sell. They can’t do anything for you.”
He stressed that he personally has nothing to gain, saying he speaks out because he doesn’t want Tinubu to fail after granting him access to the Villa. “Villa na hotel, na few more days your check-out time go reach,” he warned, insisting that only Kanu’s release can salvage the president’s standing.
Turning to Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, he said the governor’s achievements risk being forgotten if he doesn’t help secure Kanu’s freedom. “Your legacies will be swept under the carpet if you don’t get MNK out… His detention has messed up all your achievements.”
Cubana Chief Priest also faulted Tinubu for skipping Governor Alex Otti’s project commissioning in Abia, saying the president sent an “incompetent minister” instead. He described this as a missed opportunity to connect with the region where Kanu hails from.
He ended his message with a final warning: “Appeal this judgement & get it right or get ready to check out of the Villa come 2027. Southeast belongs to MNK. This is the words.”
