Gaming creator La’tayvia Deshay Ransom, widely known as Tayta Games, has passed away at the age of 21 following a battle with colon cancer. She died on September 17, just nine days before her 22nd birthday
Her father, Elton Dirt Ransom, confirmed the heartbreaking news in a Facebook post, revealing that the cancer had spread to her liver before her death. “My oldest daughter passed this morning,” he wrote.

“La’tayvia Deshay Ransom would have made 22yrs old in 9 days. I’ve been doing 2 a days at the hospital for the past week praying for the best. Talking to her made me so optimistic. Damn, I just can’t believe I lost my child.”
Tayta had built a massive following across YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram — amassing over a million fans — for her funny and relatable reactions while playing popular games like Minecraft and Dress to Impress.
She was also open about her cancer journey, sharing her diagnosis last year on YouTube and later updating fans on her chemotherapy treatments. In the comments of her last YouTube upload, posted five months ago, she wrote, “I’m doing okay!! I haven’t been posting because I’m experiencing the side effects from chemo,” explaining that she was dealing with peripheral neuropathy and missed connecting with her fans. Her final TikTok video was posted on August 21.
In a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, Tayta’s twin brother described her as the “sweetest” and “funniest” person, remembering the joy she brought to those around her.
