It turned out to be more than just a routine visit for Yul Edochie.
The Nollywood actor recently stopped by Cubana Millennium City in Asaba, a project owned by businessman Obi Cubana, to have a conversation and sort out a few things. Nothing out of the ordinary just a meeting.
But then, something unexpected happened.
As their discussion wrapped up, Obi Cubana reportedly turned to his team and made a bold, almost offhand statement: Yul would own a house on the site.
Just like that.
For Yul, it wasn’t just about the promise it was about what it represented. He described it as something Obi Cubana has been doing quietly for years: lifting others, creating opportunities, and building people without making noise about it.
Clearly moved, Yul didn’t hold back in expressing his admiration. He said:
“Obi Cubana is a big asset to Ndi Igbo.
A true Igbo King and leader.
A man who has built many men and keeps building.
I recently visited him at his site, Cubana Millennium City, Asaba, to discuss a few things, and when we were done, he told his team, ‘Yul will own a house here.
Just like that, unexpected.
This is what he has been doing for so many people for so many years, silently.
But many Igbos don’t know what we have.
A true leader invests in his people.
A true leader builds his people.
Okpataozuoora!
Okpole Yankee!
@obi_cubana
Thank you, nwannem.
Deeply appreciated.
May you never lack and may God lift you more and more”.
For Yul, the moment wasn’t just about generosity it was a reflection of leadership, one that, in his view, is rooted in empowering others and helping them grow.
