Yusuf Buhari, son of former President Muhammadu Buhari, has stepped into the political arena with plans to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives in 2027
He is eyeing the Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua Federal Constituency under the banner of the All Progressives Congress.
The declaration was made in Daura on Thursday during a meeting with party stakeholders and supporters, shortly after he visited Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, to seek his backing.

“I am here to seek your support, and I assure you that if elected, I will do my best and will never disappoint you, God willing. I thank all of you for your time, dedication and support,” Yusuf stated.
Throwing their weight behind his ambition, traditional leader Alhaji Musa Haro urged residents and political actors to support the bid, emphasizing grassroots mobilization and collaboration with other aspirants.
“We are here to ask for your support for our brother. We will go to the people in every town and village to seek their support. We will also reach out to other aspirants contesting the same seat to collaborate with them and seek their support.
“Even the current member, Hon. Aminu Jamo, did his best. We know how politics is — nobody can do 100 per cent,” Haro said.
Yusuf attended the gathering alongside former federal lawmaker Fatuhu Muhammad and members of his family.
