Comedian, Zicsaloma, has expressed frustration over repeated police stops in Lagos, saying he is considering selling his Mercedes-Benz to avoid further harassment
In a video shared on social media, Zicsaloma revealed that officers flagged him down more than five times in a single day despite having all his vehicle papers in order, including his TIN permit downloaded from the official website.
“I want to sell my Benz, not because I am broke, but because of the Nigerian police. How can you stop me over five times in one day?” he lamented.
He recalled being pulled over at several junctions, including near the Abraham Adesanya traffic light, where officers entered his car and insisted on taking him to the station. According to him, the tension eased only after police officers recognized him as a public figure.
“All my papers are complete. I’m tired. You people are wasting my time. It’s not only Benz drivers that can commit crimes. Who wants my Benz? I barely drive it anymore because of this harassment,” he added.
Zicsaloma, who rose to fame through viral comedy skits on Instagram and TikTok, has since called for an end to profiling motorists based on their choice of car.
