The rescue operation, coordinated by the Office of the National Security Adviser, involved a collaborative effort between security agencies, including the police, DSS, and military personnel, with support from the Benue State government.

According to Punch, the students were abducted last Thursday while traveling to Enugu State for a convention.

Following their abduction, a team from the Inspector General’s office arrived in Benue State on Monday and was deployed to Otukpo to search for the students.

The successful rescue effort brings relief to the students and their families, and highlights the effectiveness of interagency collaboration in combating kidnapping and securing the release of abducted individuals.
