Big Brother Naija housemates Toby Forge and Mayor Frosh, known as Team Streeze, have shared their thoughts on their unexpected eviction from the ninth season of the show.
The duo was eliminated last Sunday, along with Team Flourish, which included Rhuthee and DJ Flo.
In an interview with selected journalists, Forge expressed his belief that their “strong personalities, creativity, and strengths” made them a “threat to other contestants,” which he thinks led to their exit from the competition.
“I felt it was the usual situation. I was surprised but not entirely because maybe we were seen as lowkey threats in the house. Our duo, personality, creativity, and strength—we were doing things right. Too many people might have seen us as a threat, though we thought we were cool with them,” Forge said.
“It was surprising, shocking, and a bit disappointing, but I think they felt threatened. It wasn’t like we were winning tasks back-to-back; it was more about personal conflicts of interest. Winning the custodian challenge the week before might have also influenced their decision.”
Frosh also shared his feelings, saying he was initially hurt by their eviction but has since moved on and holds no grudges against his fellow housemates.
“For me, it was quite shocking because it wasn’t until the last week before we left that I realized some people weren’t as genuine as I thought. I tried to build bonds and friendships with no hidden agenda, but that wasn’t the case with some. But that’s fine,” he said.
“Maybe it was their strategy; they came to play a game, and no one can be blamed for having a strategy. But it can hurt you—as humans, it hurts. I’ve been out for two days now, and I’m over it. I’m just looking forward to the future and harboring no resentment.”
