2Baba speaks on his relevance in today's music

2Baba says he’s still important in the music industry, even with new Afrobeats stars coming up

He talks about how he and other older artists helped make Afrobeats popular worldwide.

2Baba advises new artists to be patient, build a strong fan base, and not rush success. He uses Burna Boy as an example, showing how Burna started small and slowly grew to perform at big places like Madison Square Garden.

In an interview, 2Baba said:

Burna Boy sells out Madison Square Garden and other artistes think they are on the same level. And that’s unrealistic. He knows what he passed through before getting to the level he is, and you have to go through that process in full. Burna boy didn’t just wake up and sell out Madison Square Garden, it’s a process that took a long time.

He started by touring small venues and he built a huge followership from there. And you see the results now. It’s the same process. We are part of the sacrificers; the instrumental process.

But that doesn’t take anything away from the fact that I am still very much relevant. I’m still here making good music.”

2Baba believes success takes time and says he’s still committed to creating good music, showing he’s still important in the industry
