Speculation about a relationship began after both Vázquez and 16-year-old Yamal shared separate Instagram photos—taken just days apart—seemingly from the same holiday destination. The images, verified by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, showed both of them on a boat and beside a distinctive infinity pool with a recognizable tree and canopy.
The similarities sparked widespread online discussion, with fans piecing together the photos and suggesting a possible romantic connection.
But on Tuesday, Vázquez broke her silence in an emotional Instagram post, addressing the backlash and abuse she’s faced since the story gained traction.
“It’s sad to see people who have such darkness inside that they wish death on someone they don’t even know,” she wrote.
She added, “What others project speaks more about them than about me. I choose to live with the purpose of continuing to grow and surrounding myself with light.”
“To those who wish me ill, I wish them healing,” she continued, “because nobody who is well in themselves wishes the destruction of another.”
