The funeral of Nollywood icon, Amaechi Muonagor, was attended by dignitaries including Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, and the State Commissioner for Culture, Tourism and Entertainment, Mr. Dom Onyenji

Amaechi Muonagor was laid to rest in his country home in Obosi, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, surrounded by grieving family members, relatives, and colleagues from the Nollywood industry.
In his condolence speech, Mr. Obi sympathize the loss of the icon and urged the bereaved family to find comfort in their faith and pray for his solemn soul.
Mr. Onyenji, on the other hand, described Nollywood as an industry for creative minds and acknowledged the loss of a talented personality in Muonagor.
He praised the late actor’s contributions to the industry, including mentoring stars, and assured that the Anambra government stands in solidarity with Nollywood during this difficult time.
The National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Mr. Emeka Ejezie, also offered his condolences, encouraging the family to take heart and find strength in the legacy left behind by the deceased.
The state chairman of AGN, Mrs. Chinyere Anyaegbunam, remembered Muonagor as a father figure in the industry who mentored many and will be deeply missed.
The funeral was a testament to Muonagor’s impact on the Nollywood industry and the lives of those who knew him.
His legacy will continue to be celebrated through his contributions to Nigerian cinema.
