Nigerian fashion designer Peace Tom Ebong has advised people to find out their potential partners’ genotypes before entering a serious relationship.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, July 25, Ebong shared her advice after losing a colleague to sickle cell anemia.
“Before you begin a relationship… Please find out their Genotype. Don’t fall in love without knowing the genotype of the person… the pain of sickle cell anemia is worse than heartbreak. We just lost a fashion designer who was a sickler. Please pity your children’s life before you fall in love. Please,” she wrote.
