The Federal Government has reportedly spent around N701 million on foreign trips for First Lady, Remi Tinubu
The trips are to five countries in three months.

According to Punch, the countries are United States, France, Mozambique, Ethiopia, and London.
The alleged expenditures, made through the State House headquarters transit account are:
– N77,659,888 for the US trip on November 17, 2023
– N149,794,284 for the France trip on February 24, 2024
– N202,386,198 for the Mozambique trip on March 15, 2024
– N144,571,785 for the Ethiopia trip on March 15, 2024
– N126,295,377 for the London trip in March 2024
Additionally, the government spent N314,231,472 on six programs of the First Lady within four months.
Reacting to the report, the Centre for Anti-Corruption and Open Leadership (CACOL) described the spending as “profligacy” and “misappropriation of funds,” as the office of the First Lady is not recognized by the constitution.
CACOL’s Executive Director, Debo Adeniran, emphasized the need for Nigerians to speak out against such frivolous spending.
