The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested Omoyele Sowore, convener of the #RevolutionNow movement, upon his arrival at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos

Sowore, who had been in the United States, was taken into custody immediately he landed in Nigeria.
Sowore had earlier confirmed being aware of the directive, stating that his name had been added to a security watchlist. He criticized the new DSS Director General for prioritizing political vendettas over addressing Nigeria’s insecurity.
Sowore’s arrest comes after he announced plans for an October protest, which he vowed would proceed despite potential detention.
