Activist Aisha Yesufu has responded to claims that she is working to undermine social critic Very Dark Man.
The controversy arose after Aisha expressed her support for the Falanas, who demanded an apology and retraction from VDM for remarks he made following the release of an alleged audio involving Bobrisky and an unknown person.
In the audio, Bobrisky reportedly said that Falz had contacted him, suggesting that his father, Femi Falana, could help secure a presidential pardon for 10 million naira to clear his criminal record.
VDM reacted negatively, questioning the Falanas’ association with Bobrisky and making a comment some interpreted as questioning Falz’s sexual orientation.
The Falanas have since announced plans for legal action against VDM.
Earlier, Aisha warned that if the Falanas ignored their conflict with VDM, it could be seen as an admission of guilt regarding the allegations in the audio.
However, some Nigerians have accused Aisha of collaborating with the Falanas to discredit VDM.
In response to these accusations, Aisha posted on her X account, saying, “I have just seen an accusation that all I am interested in is to bring VDM down. As in, because I want to do his work or I want to be helping people? I have said here several times, I do not want to help people. I just want people to not need my help… Anyway, whether anyone is fighting for anyone or not, it doesn’t give anyone the right to tarnish anyone’s hard-earned reputation… That ‘be the bigger person’ nonsense has to stop!”
