Lightning has k!lled a 70-year-old man identified as Malam Abu Yusuf in Abocho, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State
The incident happened at about 5:40 pm on Thursday as a result of a heavy downpour in the community.
An indigene of Abocho, identified as Dansoho Sulaiman, said that Yusuf was hale and healthy before his demise.
Narrating what happened, Sulaiman said: “Someone very close to the family just called to inform me of his death. There was a heavy downpour in Abocho in the afternoon up to this evening. He was outside and suddenly there was thunder and lightning.
“He fell victim and d!ed. This has never happened in Abocho community.
The deceased will be buried according to Islamic rites on Friday.
