The Defence Headquarters has announced significant breakthroughs in the fight against terrorism, with the arrest of top leaders affiliated with the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) and Eastern Security Network (ESN)
Major General Edward Buba revealed the apprehension of Pius Iguh, alleged founding father of IPOB/ESN, in Orsu, Imo State.
Additionally, Emmanuel Onwugu, IPOB commander, was arrested in Mbano Local Government Area, Abia State.
Ifeanyi Rock, a notorious cult leader, and 10 commanders were also taken into custody in Arochukwu Local Government Area, Abia State.
These successful operations were conducted through collaborative efforts between security forces and Operation Udoka troops, aimed at disrupting IPOB and ESN’s operational capabilities in the region.
This development demonstrates the Nigerian military’s unwavering commitment to maintaining national security and addressing terrorism concerns in the South-East.
