Veteran comedian AY has reacted to newcomer MOP Comedian’s wish for his show’s postponement in a tongue-in-cheek open letter

The drama began when MOP Comedian wrote to AY, requesting that he postpone his Easter show, citing their own scheduled event in March.
AY responded on Instagram, addressing MOP Comedian in a humorous yet condescending tone.
He jokingly referred to himself as “The G.O.A.T” (Greatest of All Time) and implied that MOP Comedian’s attempt to “retire” him from the industry was futile.
AY assured MOP Comedian that he and other veteran comedians would support his show, but also made it clear that they would not back down.
He ended the letter by announcing the date of his own Easter show, April 20th, and wishing MOP Comedian success with his event.
He wrote:
“Dear Colleague @mopcomedian,
I hope say this my letter go meet you well. Na the legend wey una dey shout every day for stage almost one make all the brands forget to say we still dey this business.
Una don do everything possible to retire us commot for this market. But we no go gree. Na so @mcmonicacfrn dey call me The G.O.A.T until he come buy me one goat for Christmas. The way that goat take eye me that period i no come understand who come be the real GOAT.
Abeg do your show in peace, and we go support you with our full chest. Leave LEGENDS. Make LEGENDS do their own, too. We don dey pay heavy school fees at home and abroad. The billing and billers no one hear anything LEGENDS.

AY”.
