As of March 1, 2025, the monthly allowance for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members remains at N33,000, despite the Federal Government’s approval of an increase to N77,000 in September 2024
The increment, which was supposed to take effect from July 2024, has yet to be implemented.
In January 2025, NYSC Director-General Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed assured corps members that the new allowance would commence in February 2025, following the passage of the 2025 federal budget. However, reports indicate that corps members received N33,000 for February, showing no change from the previous amount.
While government officials have yet to provide a clear explanation for the delay, corps members and stakeholders are eagerly awaiting further updates from the NYSC and relevant authorities.
