In a new interview, Skales stated that the knowledge of severe consequences, including “jungle justice,” deters potential criminals in Nigeria.

According to Skales, the fear of being caught and facing harsh punishments, including being burned alive, makes criminals in Nigeria less courageous compared to their counterparts in the UK.

However, he clarified that he does not condone or encourage extrajudicial justice.

“There is lesser crime in Nigeria compared to UK because they know if they [criminals] get caught, there is jungle justice. They burn you alive,” he said.

In the same interview, Skales shared his thoughts on the afrobeats genre, describing it as an umbrella term that encompasses various musical styles rather than a specific sound.

He emphasized that the genre’s diversity makes it difficult to pinpoint a definitive sound.
