How Sandra Duru used me to blackmail Natasha - Journalist

In a twist to the unfolding controversy involving Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Nigerian journalist Francess Olisa Ogbonnaya has accused UK-based Nigerian businesswoman Sandra Duru, also known as Prof Mgbeke, of attempting to manipulate the narrative through blackmail and falsehood

Duru recently stirred public attention when she alleged that Senator Natasha tried to bribe her with N200 million to falsely accuse former Akwa Ibom governor Godswill Akpabio of organ harvesting. Senator Natasha has since denied the claim, though it continues to fuel public debate.

In a now-viral video, Ogbonnaya alleged that Sandra Duru approached her to produce a defamatory voiceover aimed at damaging Senator Natasha’s image. According to Ogbonnaya, Duru provided her with audio recordings and a scripted message intended to mislead the public.

“She wanted me to disrupt and destroy Natasha on a TV platform, but I refused. I’m a journalist and plan to run for office again, so I couldn’t compromise my integrity,” Ogbonnaya said.

Ogbonnaya further claimed that the content Sandra provided included false allegations that Senator Natasha was plotting against the Yoruba leadership.

“How can a minority from Kogi like the Igbira, who even lean towards the Yorubas, want to fight the Yoruba government? It doesn’t add up,” she stated.

She also challenged Sandra’s narrative on claims about sexual harassment, saying the original audios suggested the opposite of what Sandra portrayed.

“In the recordings she sent me, Natasha never denied sexual harassment. In fact, she shared incidents that implied it — like when a top figure would say, ‘You look good today,’” Ogbonnaya explained.

Ogbonnaya warned that any altered audio Duru might release should be treated with suspicion.

“If Sandra releases anything different, she has doctored it. The real recordings don’t match her story,” she said.

On the issue of Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, Ogbonnaya rejected claims that Senator Natasha said she “bought” the former minister, insisting the audios only show Natasha expressing gratitude for Ezekwesili’s support and highlighting efforts to improve the lives of women.

Ogbonnaya also accused Sandra of blackmailing political figures, including Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma and former governor Rochas Okorocha.

“She told me she made Rochas governor and was blackmailing him. She did the same with Hope Uzodinma through his commissioner for international affairs,” Ogbonnaya alleged.

When asked if she was paid for her work, Ogbonnaya admitted receiving money: “Political audio is 500k. She offered 300k. I removed the incriminating parts, and she got angry. She rejected it and hired someone else.”

Calling for law enforcement to step in, she urged the police to investigate Sandra Duru’s activities. She also issued a warning to Senator Akpabio.

“Akpabio should be wary of her. I don’t know who she’s working for, Natasha or Akpabio. But Sandra is the one I know,” Ogbonnaya said.

“The evidence I’ve sent is just a tip of the iceberg. If she wants to challenge it, I’m ready to release the full conversations — especially those involving the big names she mentioned,” she concluded.
