Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has apologized to music star, Davido after he publicly scolded her for mistakenly claiming he owns a restaurant, which she said wasn’t in his wife Chioma’s name
Sarah had shared her opinion online, suggesting that Davido’s restaurant should have been opened for Chioma or named after her.
However, Davido quickly clarified that he does not own any restaurant. He explained that the launch was actually a promotional campaign for his album “5ive” in partnership with a food delivery service. In a direct and blunt message to Sarah’s DM, he wrote:
“Wtf is wrong with u? Delete that dumb ass shit. Which fucking restaurant did Topen? Pis. I didt open any restaurant. Pis delete it now.”
Following this, Sarah posted an apology video addressing Davido as “my King, one and only 001.” She explained she was misinformed by a post from food critic Opeyemi and that her comments came from a place of love, not disrespect.
Sarah expressed her deep admiration for both Davido and Chioma and promised to make an official apology to clear up the misunderstanding.
She said, “If you know me well, you’d know I’m a die-hard fan of Davido and Chioma, and I would never intentionally disrespect either of them. I jumped to conclusions based on misinformation. I am really, really sorry for getting on your nerves, especially to the point that you had to message me directly. OBO, I am your number one fan. Please forgive me. This is coming from a place of love.”
The incident serves as a reminder to verify facts before commenting publicly, especially about celebrities.
