President Bola Ahmed Tinubu personally watched the live broadcast of Governor Umo Eno’s defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC)

An image shows Tinubu viewing the event from his Lagos residence, flanked by National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu and other close associates.
The move underscores Tinubu’s keen interest in the realignment of political forces, especially in key states like Akwa Ibom.
Governor Eno’s defection ceremony took place at the Akwa Ibom State Government House in Uyo, attended by APC governors and national party leaders.
In his speech, Eno openly declared his support for President Tinubu’s second-term bid, saying, “I have no apology whatsoever for supporting President Tinubu for a second term in office, to complete the reforms he has started.”
The APC leadership warmly welcomed Eno into the party, describing his decision as a strategic and forward-looking step that will benefit both the state and the nation.
