Renowned Nigerian film and stage producer Kayode Peters has passed away in Canada
His death was confirmed on Friday by his colleague, popular comedian Steve Onu, also known as Yaw, in a statement to Peoples Gazette.
Yaw noted that while he had confirmed the news, he was still trying to reach Peters’ brother for more details.
“Yes, he is,” Yaw said when asked if Peters had died. “I am still trying to speak with his brother but he is not picking.”
As of the time of this report, the circumstances surrounding his d3ath remain unknown.
Kayode Peters was widely celebrated for his work on various stage productions and television sitcoms, including Extended Family.
He was also the creative force behind the popular early-2000s comedy series Flatmates, and played a key role in shaping Nigeria’s modern theatre and television landscape.
