An Ikeja Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ogba, Lagos, has discharged Comfort Emmanson, the Ibom Air passenger accused of unruly behavior and assaulting airline and airport officials
Presiding Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami struck out the five-count charge after the police formally applied to withdraw the case.

Emmanson was arraigned on Monday, August 11, by the Airport Police Command on allegations of disrupting peace on board the flight, assaulting a crew member, and conducting herself in a manner likely to breach public order. She had pleaded not guilty at her first appearance.
At Wednesday’s proceedings, Police Prosecutor Oluwabunmi Adeitan informed the court that both the complainant and the airline had lost interest in pursuing the case. Acting on instructions from police authorities, she requested that the charges be withdrawn.
The Magistrate granted the application and ordered Emmanson’s discharge.
