Talent manager, Mike Premium has clarified claims that Big Brother Naija winner, Phyna demanded N1billion from the Dangote Group after her sister, Ruth Otabor, was critically injured in a truck accident involving the company
He explained that the reality star’s only request was for her sister to be flown abroad for urgent medical treatment.
“It was never about money,” Mike Premium stated. “Not once did we talk about ₦1 billion as a demand. That is a completely false narrative. I have been handling this case quietly from day one, helping Phyna get legal guidance because she didn’t know how to go about it.”
According to him, the first and most pressing appeal was to arrange for Ruth to be evacuated to India, where she could receive advanced medical care unavailable in Nigeria. “Instead of compassion and swift action, there were only delays and excuses,” he lamented. “This was not a natural de..ath. Her life was taken by human negligence and disregard.”
Mike Premium also issued a stern warning to blogs spreading misinformation. “Any page or blog posting that Phyna demanded ₦1 billion — if you can’t provide credible evidence, be ready to explain yourself in court. You’re trying to push a young woman into depression after she fought so hard to save her sister, a sister whose school fees she had been paying for years. Justice must prevail.”
In screenshots shared online, Phyna’s own messages show her insistence on prioritizing her sister’s evacuation: “But first, I will demand an immediate arrangement to fly her to India. Let’s start with that so she can be attended to first.”
Reaffirming his position, Mike Premium added: “Let it be clear — I’ve only ever stated the truth about this case. My actions have always been to seek justice and compassion, nothing more. Please, let Phyna and her family grieve in peace. They’ve carried enough pain already. As for Dangote Group, justice must be served.”
