Nigerian chef Hilda Baci has officially set a new Guinness World Record for preparing the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice
The record-breaking feat followed a widely covered cook-off that captured attention on social media and beyond.

Guinness World Records confirmed the achievement on its official X account, announcing: “New record: Largest serving of Nigerian style jollof rice 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.”
The event took place on September 12, 2025, at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. Hilda, who had previously earned a Guinness World Record in 2023 for the longest cooking marathon, set out to accomplish another remarkable milestone.

The cook-off saw support from prominent figures and brands, including Funke Akindele, Enioluwa, Tomike, Pastor Idowu, and Bamidele Abiodun, the wife of Ogun State Governor, all of whom assisted in preparing what is now officially the largest pot of jollof rice ever made.
