Popular broadcaster, Oriyomi Hamzat has accused former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi of disrespecting the Yoruba people and Ibadan residents by referring to the new Olubadan, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, as “My Dear Brother.”
Obi’s congratulatory message to the monarch, shared after his coronation on Friday, September 26, sparked mixed reactions online.

While Obi later explained why he chose that form of address, Hamzat insisted on his show that it was inappropriate.
Hamzat and his guests questioned why Obi used such a casual phrase for a newly crowned monarch, noting that even the president did not address the Olubadan in that manner.
