Abba Atiku, son of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, has declared that no political party can defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election
Abba, who recently joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), made the remarks in Yola, Adamawa State, on Monday after receiving his membership registration card at Gwadabawa ward in Yola North LGA.
He said his decision to join the APC was motivated by a desire to contribute to what he described as significant economic and human development reforms under the current administration.
“I want to make it very clear that nobody or any political party can stop President Bola Tinubu from returning to Aso Rock come 2027,” Abba told PUNCH.
He praised Tinubu’s leadership, saying, “Nigerians have seen his good work; he is not a tribalist, and he doesn’t make appointments based on religion or region, but his decisions are purely on merit.”
Abba also cited widespread infrastructural growth and human capital development under the president as factors that inspired his support. “The president needs your support to continue with the good work. We should mobilise more people and, beyond party affiliations, back our president,” he added.
It is notable that Abba’s brother, Adamu Atiku, remains with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and currently serves as Commissioner for Works and Energy Development under Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State. Their father, the former vice-president, is pursuing the presidency under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a party in which none of his sons currently hold membership.
