Nigerian rapper and activist Falz has thrown a scorching critique at religious leaders and influencers who, he says, are prioritizing politics over lives.
His outburst comes after the shocking death of nearly 200 people in Kwara State due to violent attacks.
In a fiery social media post, Falz wrote:
“I don’t know when we are going to wake up. Nearly 200 people were kill£d in Kwara State, yet some are already involving celebrities and influencers with messages like ‘Relax, Tinubu is fixing Nigeria.’ They will still attend your church, and your pastors will allow them to campaign.”
The rapper’s words strike at the heart of a growing frustration among Nigerians: while communities bury their dead and face extreme insecurity, some clergy and influencers are using tragedy as a backdrop to push political narratives.
Falz, known for blending music with activism, highlighted the disconnect between moral authority and real-life crises.
“When churches and pastors allow political campaigning under their roof while citizens are dying, something is seriously wrong,” he said in the post.
The attacks in Kwara, carried out by armed assailants, have left villages devastated, raising questions about government protection and leadership.
Falz’s intervention reflects the anger of a young generation demanding that religious leaders stand for humanity, not political agendas.
