The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has urged the public to come forward with evidence or information relating to alleged cases of child s3xual abuse and misconduct in daycare centres across Nigeria
This call follows renewed discussions on social media after resurfaced tweets by singer Simi, which referenced a four-year-old boy and sparked widespread concern online.
In a statement, NAPTIP stressed its commitment to investigating all credible reports of child abuse and misconduct. The agency asked anyone with factual information, direct knowledge, evidence, or personal experience related to the incidents mentioned in the viral posts, or similar cases, to contact them confidentially via direct message or by emailing [email protected].
The agency emphasized that it takes all reports seriously and will pursue investigations in accordance with the law, reinforcing its role in protecting children from sexual exploitation and abuse.
While the statement did not name specific individuals or daycare centres, it highlighted the importance of public cooperation in uncovering credible leads to ensure justice and accountability.
