The tragedy surrounding Nigerian singer Shanko Rasheed has taken another shocking turn.
Just days after the devastating loss of their son, his wife has come forward with grave allegations of neglect, abandonment, and abuse.
The singer’s wife accused Shanko of leaving her to struggle alone after a severe accident on October 11 that left her with leg injuries and unable to work.
She revealed that she had to care for their three children while battling joblessness, eviction, and mounting hospital bills.
She claimed Shanko instructed her to take a loan to cover their rent, only to take the money and abandon her.
Forced from their home, she and her children were left seeking shelter in a church.
She also accused him of failing to pay their children’s school fees, leaving her to shoulder the burden alone.
In an emotional plea, she recounted the final, tragic days of their son, Jamal:
“Nigerians help me. I had 3 kids for him. Jamal was our firstborn. I had an accident on October 11 that affected my legs, and this made me jobless. On Oct 26, he entered the house, and I asked him for money, but he angrily left… One day, Jamal fell sick… I started borrowing money from people to pay Jamal’s hospital bills… Despite the fact that I had a baby, the dad never sent money for upkeep… As I was making the payment for his meds, Jamal passed away.
After Jamal passed away, Shanko started accusing me at the hospital that I k!lled him. He brought out a g*n and said he would k!ll me too… Right now, Shanko has taken away the two remaining children from me. Nigerians, have mercy on me. I have nobody… Before Jamal passed away, he used to say he never wanted to see his Dad because of his bad behaviour.
I have all the evidence on my phone. Throughout the time Jamal was sick at the hospital, Shanko was with a lady enjoying.”
