Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have successfully thwarted a coordinated ISWAP attack at Mallam Fatori in Borno State’s Abadam Local Government Area, k!lling at least 60 insurgents
The military, in an operational report obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, said the terrorists targeted the 68 Battalion, Mobile Defence Area on Tuesday evening.

The assault, launched from the Duguri General Area, focused on the frontage of Bravo Company, with attackers on foot supported by armed drones.
Joint Task Force (JTF) personnel, backed by air assets, quickly countered the drones, forcing the insurgents to retreat in disarray toward the Arege General Area.
“Initial assessments indicate over 60 terrorists were neutralised during the operation, while four soldiers sustained minor injuries,” the report stated.
The military confirmed ongoing intelligence and surveillance operations, noting that six suspected terrorist groups have been sighted moving toward Arege. Plans are underway to exploit the area fully to consolidate gains and prevent further attacks.
A video released by the JTF captures the aftermath of the airstrike, highlighting the precision and readiness of troops operating in the Northeast.
The task force reiterated its commitment to protecting civilians and sustaining pressure on terrorist networks across Borno and neighbouring states.
